When I write on here about how we need to befriend and support the cool Republicans (“cool” as in different from the xenophobic oligarchal overprivileged white guys), I’m talking about people like Pat Toomey.

In their quest to defeat the bill that would require background checks for firearms purchases, the NRA deployed the strain of fear that is the subject of my book.

And it’s blowing up in their face.

Hey Senators: when over 90% of the American people support a measure like background checks, respect the power of their vote.

As crazy as it may seem to you all, this power is much greater than Gun Industry lobby money.
