I love this post I wrote five years ago, Romeo Whiskey Tango.
It got inspired by looking at the world twenty years after the terrorist attacks that happened on September 11th, 2001. I felt the need to, as a nobody living in the USA, apologize for my country’s wealthy interests who squandered global goodwill and twisted those genuine sympathies into profiteering opportunities.
There we were, not even a full year into Joe Biden’s presidency. The Covid-19 threat had been reduced, which led to an awakening economy and an existence where most people were saying, “Thank goodness Donald Trump will never be President again. Yeesh!”
Five years later, I feel no desire to apologize to the world again. I live here. I know what many of my fellow citizens are like. I get why they want to ruin their own futures, why it feeds their spite. In November 2024, we fucked up. Bigly.
My country re-elected a man who just posted AI slop of himself at Ground Zero. And I am past the point where I am shocked. The fact that Bonespurs made fun of folks who did actual work at the WTC site does not surprise me.
Next thing you know, GOP congressmen, Elon Musk, and some crypto-bros and private-prison execs just might post their own AI slop of themselves “heroically” helping to rescue people trapped in the rubble. Some Flock and Palantir employees should make AI slop where they are dressed as Navy SEALs fighting the War on Terror, just because it would be kitschy to do such a thing on September 11th, 2026.
I can see them doing that. Hey, it would own the libs.
I’m done with this commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks which killed almost 3000 innocent people. I wish my country’s powerful interests respected what this day represents. But they don’t.

I write fiction and have a dark comedy series available, Fearkiller (Volume 1) and Notes from Trillionaire Island: Fearkiller (Volume 2), as well as Revolutionizer Alpha, the first book in a sci-fi series. I also wrote a story about God. It was weird, but then I decided to make the story and its sequel free. And all of the sudden, it didn’t seem as weird. Writing about God is much less weird when you write about God without charging money for it. Here’s my professional site, my trade. Follow me on Medium.
