Do authoritarians want civil war…or do they want to dial 911?

Not gonna be a long post, just taking a stroll down Memory Lane and remembering this July 4th t-shirt design from a pro-Trump group. When I first saw this t-shirt, it made me appreciate the wisdom of John Lennon’s words above. Non-violence and humor, people. Non-violence and humor.
A lot of Right-wingers sound militant these days. The thing is, not many of them serve. I’ve never served, either. Which is why I don’t walk around wearing ammosexual shit and acting like a GI Joke.
Here are facts about who actually does serve in the armed forces of the United States, found in a report about the demographic makeup of the US military:
• Around one-half of one percent—.5%—of Americans are currently active duty.
• In the Navy and Air Force, one in five service members are women.
• As this article states: “Among enlisted recruits, 43 percent of men and 56 percent of women are Hispanic or a racial minority.”
• There are almost as many black women as white women in the Army. And keep in mind the black and white population percentages.
• Hispanics are the fastest-growing section of the military population.
• Non-hispanic white representation in the military is decreasing, not increasing.
The Right does indeed want to fight. But they want to fight like rich, white douchebags fight: by making someone else do their fighting while they sit on the sidelines and fap. They want to talk shit with their bros and give one another the high-five-low-five, just like Mav and Goose, while wagering big money on the violence. They don’t want to fight.
Were the beginnings of Nazi Germany as passive-aggressive as 2020 America?
